I think it was Churchill who said: "Never have so few given so much for so many", when he allowed the Germans to bomb a small town in England without alerting the people in the town that they were going to be bombed (Churchill didn't want to alert the Germans that their code had been broken).

Well, in relation to Workingtoday.org (and maybe Gawker Media) I would say "Never has so much press been generated by someone doing so little".

Workingtoday.org's original strategy was based on its failure to actually understand how the staffing industry works. Workingtoday.org was created by someone who didn't know diick about the staffing business with the purpose of helping all of these poor temps who didn't have health insurances and other employment benefits.

The reality of the staffing business is that very few people temp long enough to give a sheat about healthcare and employment benefits while they are temping. The average turnover rate for temp agencies is 400%, which I read to say that the average temp agency has a completely new set of temps 4 times a year.

Faced with the fact that it was this fancy org to serve people who had no need for it services, Workingtoday.org has tired to morph into various forms in hopes of finding an audience. Workingtoday.org morphed into serving the under-insured at one point and now it has morphed into serving <b>freelancers</b>. I think the problem once again with Workingtoday.org is that it/they don't know diick about temping or the staffing business. You know, at some point Workingtoday, really needs to hire a consultant to clue them in on just who and what temps and freelancers are. Based on the information I have, there are only about 3 million people temping and freelancing at any given time in the US. And why would all 3 million of those people turn to an org in New York City for health insurance?

Anywho, Workingtoday.org has a survey you can take on the best company to freelance for at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=28681481154
